Hey guys, I have some winchester supreme 30-30 ammo casings, they have a shiny metallic look.

Is it just nickel plating or are these stainless steel?

Short question is : can I reload them? :p

Awesome guys thanks

Yeah they do, they seem to have worked fine for my brother's deer doe. They advertise a nosler bullet on the box, seems to be worth the price... I guess, but now I'll be reloading them with ftx bullets :)

Oh yeah also, does it make a huge difference wich type of brass you use ? I have these nickel plated brass but I will also reload regular brass for the same ammo, will it give different results with same primer/powder/bullets ?

Damn it bought a lube case just to find out 30-30 can't be lubed with it :bangHead:

At least it sould work with my other calibers

Not sure what you talking about there any regular case lube should work fine for lubing the cases Nickel or brass,be aware that nickel plated bottle neck case that are full length resized tend to wear out faster so inspect them for cracks around the neck and shoulder area. Nickel is harder than brass so the case will work harden faster.

I use Win,Rem and Hornady brass in my 30-30 loads can't really tell much difference. Just make sure the ammo you sight your rifle in with is the same ammo you hunt with, or at least shoot some of each to see if point of impact changes between different brands of brass.

"...does it make a huge difference..." No. Nickeled cases are plated brass.
"...internal volumes can be different..." Not enough to make a lick of difference.

With 30-30 the rim sticks out so when you lay them down the shoulder and neck touch the lube pad and the middle of the pad don't.

Is there any way to use the lube pad any ways?

Yeah I ended up using a cotton cloth, the book says you can't put any lube on the neck and shoulder or else it will dent correct?

Take the pad out of its plastic or tin container, run the rim so it is hanging over the edge of the pad. Been doing it for years with 45-70 if I have too FL size. Other trick is once you have fired the brass in your gun, neck size only. No lube needed. As far as lube on the neck and shoulder, some is good, too much will cause dents, but there should be a little.
