I recently inherited a late 70's Winchester Super X model 1. Would like to bring it out duck hunting this season but theres a few things needing fixed before then. So I'm hoping someone can recommend a good source for spare parts for the SX1, notably I wanna pick up a handful of buffers and oring which seem to be common wear parts.

You can order the parts from Numrich in the US. I ordered two buffers and two o-rings for my fathers SX1 without issue within the last 6 months.

I wouldn’t necessarily call them “common wear parts”, but these original polymer/plastic parts are now up to half a century old, and have aged to the point of being unusable. Modern replacements should last much longer.

I bought a SX-1 when they first came out in 1974. I have put thousands upon thousands of rounds threw it from target loads to heavy duck loads. I have never replaced the O ring, I did replace the buffer once, it was cracked a bit, but it didn't really need it. I have no idea what condition yours are in, but you will not need a hand full of buffers and O rings. The Winchester SX-1 was a very well made, virtually all machined parts, also a very simple design that was highly dependable. I have never had mine malfunction, or had a part breakage. I was an avid duck and goose hunter and mine has seen a lot of tough conditions and nasty weather. But I always stripped and thoroughly cleaned it afterwards which greatly helps. It was at the time vastly superior to the Remington 1100. No comparison really. The issue that killed the SX-1 was it's high production costs per gun. Winchester just could not afford to to produce the gun and sell it at a competitive price to other semi autos on the market at the time.
You mention you want to take your SX duck hunting. That means steel shot. SX-1's came with fixed chokes, usually full. I would highly suggest getting a gunsmith to measure your choke constriction and have it honed out some to better handle steel shot to help prevent barrel damage. Either that or use one of the non toxic soft shot loads like Bismuth. I had thin wall screw in chokes installed in one of my barrels, that would also be an option for you. Enjoy your SX, take care of it and it will last you a life time. Mine is.

Ho well, so much for that option.

My father and I both have Super-X1, both bought new...
Only thing that needed replacing were
- The buffers (both of them). Disintegrated, probably because the guns had sat unused in the back of the safe for the better part of a decade (kind of scary how fast time flies by)
- 1x o-ring, on my father's gun. He somehow damaged it while putting the gun back together... back then, we got a handful of them from the local hydraulic shop for $1... The extra were never needed have long been misplaced...

I see Midwest GunWork now offers one in "red"... Might be an option.

Midwest don’t ship to Canada.

Is their shipping to canada reasonably priced?

Numrich has the red buffers for 24.57 each. I just ordered a rather bulky bit of parts from them including a butt stock shipping was 23.95. This is US funds we are talking here. You may have to pay some taxes to Canada Customs if they hit you. 99% of the time I have not had to pay any on orders from Numrich.
