So this winter I took my SX3 to shoot coyotes and for whatever reason the end cap came unknowingly loose during a hike. I shot at the coyote and the cap, tube, plug and spring blew off. I managed to find all my parts and assembled it back. I never did shoot it til today and now find it will not strike the primers.....there is an ever so small dimple but thats it. The gun has been cleaned and lubed and dissassembled. Everything looks fine. I did order a new firing pin spring today
Any other suggestions before I find a gun smith.

Cheers!!

Is you barrel loose or installed wrong? It could be sitting slightly forward causing a head space issue and causing the light strikes. I've seen it on shotguns before.

You nailed it Billdick....there was a ring that was not seated proper, ever so small but caused the issue and then the barrel was out. Looks like I will have a few extra parts,,wont need a new firing pin.

Cheers!!
