Hello,

I have just recently purchased a Winchester SXP shotgun online from Ellwood Epps can't wait to get it in my hands. Well i'm waiting I may as well buy some ammo and it is my first shotgun so I was wondering what the community here would suggest I try. Please recommend whatever you think is good for starters and for fun. Also can I shoot rifled slugs out of this model? and do i need chokes for certain types of ammunition? Please advise.

3" 12 gauge chamber to be clear.

Thanks! and I'll post pictures when it arrives if people would like that.

I have a Winchester 1300 Defender. The model before the SXP replaced it. Various sizes of buckshot and slugs are always fun. Not very kind to your shoulder though. Target loads are the best way to get comfortable with your gun because of the mild recoil.

I've had my SXP for nearly 4 years and I'd just like to add that this shotgun eats anything!
It feeds cheap aluminum shells, old paper hulls, wax slugs, anything that you feed it goes bang.
Cheers
