Winchester SXR2 semi in 9.3x62, thoughts?

I don't know anything about that rifle but a semi-auto in 9.3x62 would be a wicked (guide) rifle for big bears, up close.

In one of Billy Molls vids 'Exalted', there's a young guy on a hunt that uses a semi in .300Win that looks an awful lot like that.

I think it's a pretty cool looking rifle.

I have 2 bolt rifles, shot aaalot with either, never let me down (1st Gen T3 Hunter + M.96 Commercial Husqvarna with a peep sight. They are my favs, for decades...

These 9.3 semis are nice - beauts, I would use for hunting Moose + never for Bear Defense: too many extra things to go wrong ... keep it simple - bolt 9.3 or pump 12 G. Coming from a Bear Photographer <------- blank goes up 1st, Rubber next, then all 12G slugs for bear protection. I have a good buddy who takes aaalot of Polar Bear pics, way more outdoors + animal pics than I - same load out with a 12 G. Pump 12" brl full stock.

But they sure look nice and shoot well ✔

I'd sooner trust manual action, myself. Mind you a lot of self defence pistols are semi.

The way a bear could cover ground, I'd never have 2 non lethal, before the real shells. The first one would would be a live round, which coincidentally does double duty as a blank....

Jay, Where are the the SRX2 Winchesters made ?

The sight design looks similar to a Benelli Endurance semi in 9.3x62 Benelli Marketing calls it "EasyAim" in Europe.

And, I decided to go with another gun... Steering clear of the semi after my 9.3x62 BAR experience... But it would be cool to hear from the guy who has it now, I've heard through the grape vine that he got the rifle running reliably!

And I'm going to put a Bushnell Elite 4500 2.5-10x40 on it with Talley medium 30mm rings. I also picked up some Hornady Custom International 286 grain soft point ammo for it... Now for Canada Post 'et al' to do their thing & deliver lol!
