I have two winchester shotguns 1400 WCT-68 AND A 1200 wct-68. The 1200 is immaculate and the 1400 needs a bit of work. Is there anyone here who can give me a ballpark on the value of the guns. Lots of gold on the guns.

They were special edition guns with gold coloured triggers and some other parts. Maybe there would be some winchester collector out there who would pay a premium, but i wouldn't count on it in Canada. Unfortunately they are 1968-69ish winchesters with pressed checkering and neither the 1200 or the 1400 will ever be highly sought after collector shotguns. I would expect the value to be as shooters.

I'd guestimate $200-$300 for the 1200, perhaps a tad more. Value of the 1400 depends on what is wrong with it, but even in excellent condition it's no more valuable than the 1200.

Edited to add: googled and found an online auction in the US that sold a NIB pair of WCT-68 1200 and 1400 (c/w an extra barrel for the 1400) for US$870.00.

Sometimes US prices don't mean too much in Canada. They apparently get a lot more for model 12's down there than we do here. Regarding the 1200. I bought one a year ago from a fellow and it was in very nice shape with only one little scuff on the surface of the stock finish. It was a plain barrel but chambered for 3". I bought it for $200.00. I traded it for 2 old Cooey .22's that I figured were worth between $125.00-$150.00 each. I think $200-$300.00 is a resonable price to expect for yours. If you get more, great. It all depends on how fast or badly you want to sell.
