winchester wildcat .22 bolt action rifle

Called S.I.R. yesterday - none in stock and no ETA. Same at LeBarons. I believe read that there was some issue with Winchester getting stocks for these (after closing a plant?)... can't recall the details but there was a thread over on rimfire central discussing the reason for the delay (I'll see if I can find it again).

They'll be hot sellers when they come in - for those of us who missed the $100 TOZ-78s ... what's another $150? ;-)

My TOZ is scary accurate for a $100 rifle. I hope the winchester model kept the adjustable trigger feature as that is one of the best things on these rifles. No mention of it on their website.

Thte TOZ is by far the best $100 I ever spent on a new rifle. It shoots real straight. The fit and finish is a little to be desired, so if winy fixed that it might be worth it at $250.

From what I read about 6 months ago, but don't quote me on this, the rifle is the same with the following "improvements":

Bolt (and maybe trigger) polished (that is really all it needed).
Better walent stock.
Bolt handle and positon changed, more winy like
Standard 22 groves on rail instead of euro 11mm
Different sights, worse front site but both front and rear iron (plastic rear on toz)
Mags still plastic (but hopfully the locking grove/notch is improved)

This isn't fact just what I remember reading awhile back.

Stock check...

Has anyone seen one of these in stock yet anywhere in Canada?

Any news on when they'll be available? :runaway:
