Hey Guys;

I enjoy my 4lb 1.5oz Winchester Wildcat SR TrueTimber Midnight Camo with Romeo5 quite a bit & while watching a Paul Harrell video (RIP Paul), it dawned on me...

While the rifle's trigger group contains two allen keys, one for the stock takedown & one for adjusting the peep sight...

I never had a look at it to determine if either side of the trigger group could store a spare 2023 lithium battery for my Sig Sauer Romeo5 red dot...

And guess what, YES it can!

Cheers
Jay

Two allen keys on right side of trigger group... NO space to store an additional battery...

She's a trim girl coming in at 4lbs 1.5oz...

I love my wildcat. Put a small 4x fixed scope on it, but if I ever switch it up to a red dot I'll have to keep this trick in mind!

Too bad the Romeo5 now comes with a built in high mount, making it pretty useless for guns like this. I just got a Ruger PC Carbine, and wanted to put a Romeo5 on it because of the shake awake feature, but I'll have to track down an older model it looks like...

Double check before you buy one as they seem to be coming with both high and low mounts and can be swapped.

Sorry, I was talking specifically about the gen2 model, as that seems to be replacing the gen1 at many retailers.

Looking at Sigs website it looks like there IS a gen2 model with a low mount:

But I haven't seen this one for sale, I keep seeing the one with the built in high mount:

Looking at Sigs website again I see the low mount version is listed as "New!" so maybe they just haven't made it to Canada yet.

At any rate, thanks for the heads up about the low mount, if not for this thread I probably wouldn't have ended up on Sigs site.
