winchester wildcat .22lr ammo $48 for 500???

I found a 500rnd brick at at my little local sporting shop but at $48+tx i had to pass.
Is he marking it up huge or is this stuff normally that much. shop owner says he has bricks coming in next week, doubt that by the dust on the box i saw.
 
Not my favourite 22 round. There's been a few recalls of it, although not too recently that I'm aware of.
But I just don't like Win 22 in general. Bent rounds in my semis, and wife had a couple ftf in her Cooey model 60!

That thing is the Mikey of 22 rifles..."he'll eat anything!"

Whatever store you went to can go shove it, $50 for a brick is F***ED!!
 
.22lr prices are getting insane some places while they are low as ever at others. It's all new stock so I imagine there is definitely some gouging going on.
 
I love how some canadian dealers then say this same box in the US is selling for $150!
I can help but call BS. Yes they list for that much but as if someone is going to pay more than $50!
If someone on Calgary is really needing some 22lr ammo and has money burning a hole in their pocket, I have AE, M22 and Peters for sale!
 
Way over priced especially for Wildcat. I bought a brick a few years back. After having my 10-22 leaded so bad that I couldn't get a cleaning rod through, I gave the majority of it away. Nothing but plated for me now.
 
Years ago I had some of that wildcat and about 1 in 5 wouldn't fire. Never bought it again. Federal has always been good for me. Shot tens of thousands if not hundred thousands and rarely a misfire.
 
the winchester 333 packs are 15 bux at wall mart and the 555 are 28 bux. I bet the prices of 22 across the board will slowly increase. buy it cheap stack it deep

Just got a box from Lebaron Mississauga today they were $23.07. They also had remington hyper velocity yellow jackets think those were $45.99

not to bad, but that's near the price (currently) of better quality bulk. i wish i grabbed a case or 2 when i saw them for $17 but my guns didn't like them so i passed.
 
500 Wildcats were $17.27 at Lebarons one year ago. Fortunately, I still have around 2000 rounds left. And all my .22's love these rounds. :)

I just bought 10 bricks at LeBaron for $23.72/brick about 3-4 weeks ago and with my membership discount pull 10% off that. I had it shipped here to SK and with shipping landed on my door step for $26/brick, shipping, handling and tax included.

now i really regret not buying it, i have a few bricks of wildcat i will try with the badger and see how she goes.
