winchester wildcat

I wouldn't suggest getting one, the last time that I saw something built that rough it had Ruko stamped on it, and shooting it eventually bent the firing pin so bad that it wouldn't shoot.

I have a TOZ 78 and it is a fantastic little gun. Typical Russian construction for long time use. The Winchester sports prettier wood and has slightly different sights. I would not have a problem buying one but the TOZ is a little cheaper. (price)

I had the winchester and it looked good from 20 feet but up close the wood was rough like 50 grit sandpaper marks here and there. There was grinder marks all over the steel but it was extremely accurate and never ever gave any problems. The open sights were a little course to shoot over 50 yards but closer they were O.K.. I fyou can get over the rough exterior features buy one.
 
Hi, I have had one for i think 2years and it is a great 22lr i have shot many others and this one is my favorite. Don't be fouled by it being made in Russia it may not look as pretty as the rest but you never judge a book by its cover right.

I own a wildcat, and have never had any problems with it, the finish was fine, and the thing is incredibly accurate, great little rifle, I would recommend it to anybody
 
TOZ-78 when they were $100 from Armrus was a good deal. I'd feel pretty bad paying $250 for the Winchester version.....
 
FYI:
The TOZ-78's were $100 a couple years ago. It was a fire-sale as a dealer was going out of business. You will never find them new for that again because the dealer cost is way more than that.
 
I bought a Wildcat two weeks ago. It fits me well. I have a Bushnell Sportsman 3-9x32 and A.O.. A five shot group today at 75yd gave .75" for three shots the two unexplained fliers, one two inch left and one two inch to the right of the three. I'm having my smith work on the trigger group. Over all I enjoy the Wildcat. I believe that it can be more accurate once the trigger is worked on.
Although ruff in spots I feel it to be good value at $245.00. The only issue I have with this rifle is the heavy trigger, but that is easily improved.

I don't know if they left it out on the Americanized TOZ-78.....but the Russian version has a fully adjustable trigger which is fantastic.

The Toz 78 has an adjustable trigger but the Wildcat doesn't. Winchester showed a varmint model with heavy barrel and adjustable trigger on their web sight but I don't think any made it to Canada.
 
If i was in the market for a bolt action with a box mag, i'd definitely be looking at the toz or a winchester(but probably toz for the trigger). having them come with so many mags is pretty sweet, and i like how the mag well looks infront of the trigger guard, nice lines.
