Recently bought a bulk pack of 500 Winchester "WinClean" 124gr 9mmP from TSE. I've been experiencing misfires - 2% (approx one round per 50 box). On one round the primer is visibly seated incorrectly. Using a Glock - there is no issues of light strikes - the pin strikes aggressively...
By far the most unreliable ammo from a reputable manufacturer I've ever used - definitely "practice only" ammo in my book.

Was wondering if anybody else have had the same experience?

Myself and a friend both had problems with Winclean sometimes not locking the slide back on the last shot. Also had some half-dozen failure to feeds. I try to avoid the stuff if I can.

Pistols used were a 'Baby Eagle' and 'Steyr M-40A1'.

I've shot maybe 17,000 rounds of thier 40, one day, had around 10 rounds fail to fire from the same lot in about 400 rounds fired. Other than that, maybe 2 or 3 in total. That being said, there's an old can (big tomato juice can) at the range nearly 2/3 full of missfires from over the years, most of it winclean.

I use a DAO pistol and with multiple strikes they won't fire. I think it's a primer issue...

I have used 1000's of rounds of all calibres in Winclean, and the 9MM is the only one I won't use anymore.
I had various malfuntions..FTE, slide not locking open, etc, which I assumed were due to mag problems, weak springs, etc.
I finally did some back to back testing with other makes of ammo, and the 'problems' resolved. I also noted that I was getting a lot of blowby or debris, some of which I was thankful that I was wearing my safety glasses!
The issues with the Winclean ammo, in my limited experience, seemed to be with the 9MM only...the 40S&W and 45ACP seemed OK.
Just my $0.02 worth.....

Just saw your post, and that was my conclusion as well....

Thanks for the feedback guys.
And according to the salesperson "We've shot thousands at our range with no problems at all"...
Typical salestalk - either uninformed, or just ignorant.
My own reloads are more reliable!

To hijack my own topic:
Where can I find decent 9mm ammo in the Calgary area?

Cheers

Actually we have shot over 1 million rounds. I have a can with a couple hundred defective rounds in it.
If you prefer we have Blaser brass cased ammo for sale. $200/1000

Lead free primers are more sensitive to moisture than the regular kind, so there are occasionally bad lots, poorly stored boxes, etc in a shipment.

I used winchester 9mm, both winclean and FMJ, for about 2 years with 100% reliability... Over the past several months, all of the sudden, I had misfires, low power, failure to meet minimum power factor, etc, etc... Their quality control has clearly dropped, doesn't matter how many rounds people fired without problems prior to this year... :(
