I'm still on the hunt for a light target load for IPSC Production Div. (125 min. PF)

I'm curently using 3.7grains of titegroup under 180 grain Frontiers/Montana Gold bullets, and this combo works very well in my XD, albeit very dirty.

I tried 4.4 grains of Winchester WST and was pleasently suprised on how clean this stuff is, even a light load.

Anyone else use WST? What's your load?

3.7gr. of Titegroup under a 180gr. bullet, no wonder its dirty. Try about 4.5gr., that''s what I use and its not dirty. Titegroup burns like crap at lower charges and thats what all the dirt is from.

I've used WST, but not for about eight years, its a good powder, sorry I can't help you out with WST loads, it is cleaner burning than most other powders.

I have used WST for practice rounds, I cant provide the PF because I did not bother measuring them, but the recoil on this data are really soft.
One thing I have notice and hated about WST is the fungent smell of smoke. It almost smell like you are inhaling amonia while you are shooting (I am not sure if some WST loaders noticed it, but that's my observation - maybe it's just me) :).

Here are what I have used in the past:

I have used WSP, 180 FMJ Excel heads and occassionally zero FMJ bullets with same data.
Guns used; stock STI EDGE with recoil master & Stock Para Ltd 16-40:
ALL load data resulted with very mild recoil, but guaranteed to bring down steel poppers from 25-yds:
> OAL = 1.170" with 4.2 grains of WST
> OAL = 1.160" with 4.2 - 4.3 grains of WST
> OAL = 1.150" with 3.9-4.1 grains of WST

Good luck and reload safely :)
