To my eyes, it's just a cheaper made Browning AB3 since FN owns them both. Action is identical, with slightly different contours. The barrel is attached with a Savage style nut, and there is no recoil lug washer, just a notch that beds to a molded into the stock steel bar. The trigger is more adjustable on the Winny, but the mags are all plastic and hold one less round then the AB3.
I have a pair of AB3 and have no complaints with it, nice and light and accurate. I'm sure the Winny version is fine, just made a bit cheaper.

I own a XPR 3006. Most accurate gun I own. Under 0.5 MOA. Pointed at 7 whitetails and put all 7 in the freezer. Longest shot was 310 yds in the neck. Added a Boyds Nutmeg Laminate stock this year which gives it even a better shooting platform. My son borrows it instead of using his own Browning AB3. This years bullets are 165gr SST with 58 gr of 4350 pushing it. Pretty sure the 24" barrel makes them one of the most accurate guns on the market regardless of cost.

I had to try one so bought XPR in 6.5 CM. I find it a nice rifle, good trigger same as the mod 70. I bedded the action before trying it and find it's very accurate. The mag is straight feed not staggered, feeds smoothly. For the $$$ I think it's a good buy.

UPDATE My XPR 30-06 is now 8/8 1 shot kills. Son flipped a buck this AM with my custom 165 gr SST pushed by 58 gr of IMR4350.
These XPR's are incredible guns for the money. Friend has one in 300 WinMag and it is a shooter as well. Value priced and Target gun accurate.
