I have a Savage Mark 2 BV and a FSS,I was shooting Federal and Remington Bulk ammo I preffer the Federal 525 Bilk Box but could not find any so I got the Winchester Xpert HV rounds in a Bulk box I was wondering are these rounds any good,I do not expect there to be any trouble with these rounds as I have used Blazer Federal Remington and a few other brands and my Savage's shot them the same with ever touching my Scope on BV even at 100 Yards.

most bolt rifles will handle any kind of ammo. Accuracy is another thing. I mainly use Winchester 333s but have ran out and the local gas station had the High Velocity. they shot very well in my Marlin 81 and Lakefield Mark II.

They work fine. Pretty dirty but I found them reasonably accurate when I tried them at 40m. I would have gone further but that is as far as I can shoot at that particular spot.

I shot some quite acceptable groups the other day using the Winchester HV's in my SR Ruger. It was basically the same thing. They were all I had that day but they shot very well. Didn't seem any dirtier than Dynapoints or Federals. I look forward to using them again.

I'm not to worried about them not shoot well as I find that my Savage Mark 2's will shoot anything I put in them, when I first got my BV I tried Blazer's Federals remington's and a bunch of other 50 packs and they all shot great without ever having to touch the Scope,Crappy Tire was out of stock and Wally World olny had Winchester's,I really wanted to stay with Federal bulk packs because I find that Copper plated bullet's keep my barrel alot cleaner.

My Savage 24 loves the Xperts but my 10/22 hates them. It'll cycle them just fine but it shoots them like a shotgun. DynaPoints on the hand are super accurate in the 10/22 but no good in the Savage.

Why is it that .22s are so picky on ammo with seemingly no rhyme nor reason? Has anyone actually figured it out or is it some kind of law of nature? :p

Ive got three bricks of them left from my Savage Mark II "G" and they seem to do pretty well EXCEPT when I used them on my steel rimfire targets. The bloody things kept making some nasty dents at 30m :D

I have the same Target as you and I don't mind it but I find even in the lane that is beside the fence line where I shoot and the grass get's drove over a fair bit and the target's seem to get covered by the grass when they are not at 50 yards what is happening is the grass going down range at 50 yard's for me seem's to hide about half of them,I also had problem's with the leg's sliding down everytime you shot the thing ten time's,what happened was the whole unit was bucking back and letting the leg's slide down and then changing the angle of the bar and the target's would not flop on to the bar when shot,I got some stainless steel and a friend with a Mig weilder to weild a tack weild on each side of the leg and used the stainless steel as a spacer so the leg's would not get weilded in place and now the tack weild's hold the leg's all the way up,just so you know I found the best and cheapest way to make the target's orange again is to go to Crappy Tire get there Armor Coat Paint and I use the Zesty Orange and you olny need to apply 2 coat's and your done it also dry's pretty fast and I recoat with in 1 hour to 1 1/2,also incase you don't paint alot try this tip don't clean your brush between coat's just put a sandwich bag or one that is not super thin and then put the brush in there wrap it up fairly good so not much air is left in there and then just put a rubber band around the handle and then the thinner can not escape leaving the brush nice and fresh for the next coat.

I also just got a Champion Target and Trap's reset target off ebay fairly cheap for shooting at 100 Yard's can't wait for it to get here come dam UPS Driver hurry up and get here would you.

I have the same Target as you and I don't mind it. But I find even in the lane that is beside the fence line, where I shoot - and the grass gets drove over a fair bit and the targets seem to get covered by the grass - when they are not at 50 yards, what is happening is the grass going down range at 50 yards for me seems to hide about half of them.

I also had problems with the legs sliding down, everytime you shot the thing ten times. What happened was the whole unit was bucking back and letting the legs slide down, and then changing the angle of the bar: the targets would not flop on to the bar when shot.

I got some stainless steel - and a friend with a Mig welder - to weld a tack weld on each side of the leg, and used the stainless steel as a spacer so the legs would not get welded in place. Now the tack welds hold the legs all the way up.

Just so you know, I found the best and cheapest way to make the targets orange again is to go to Crappy Tire and get Armor Coat Paint there. I use the Zesty Orange, and you only need to apply 2 coats and then you're done. It also drys pretty fast, and I recoat within 1 hour to 1 1/2.

Also, in case you don't paint a lot, try this tip: don't clean your brush between coats. Just put a sandwich bag, or one that is not super-thin, and then put the brush in there. Wrap it up fairly good, so that not much air is left in there, and then just put a rubber band around the handle. This done, the thinner can not escape, leaving the brush nice and fresh for the next coat.

I also just got a Champion Target and Trap's reset target off eBay fairly cheap, for shooting at 100 yards. I can't wait for it to get here: come damn UPS Driver, hurry up and get here, would you?

Was this more-or-less what you meant to say?
