i dont get how factory ammo that costs twice as much as my beautiful clean wolf ammo can look like this outta the box....

no more local purchases for me....

anyone have this quality ?

writing on the bottom of the casings are worn and pitted, cases have dirt or rust it seems, just seems like re-manufactured but very poorly,

Looks like the box got wet a some point. Not a factory issue, i don't think, but a storage issue from wherever you got it from :)

Yep, poor storage. Not necessarily wet, but stored in a VERY humid area, or where there might have been some traces of corrosive gas in the air. (some water wells give off traces of hydrogen sulfide, or barns etc..)
 
$30!! start reloading bud. And I would think twice before buying anything else from that place without price checking first.

i tried reloading .308 rifle rounds, was fun at first but when jamming happened i gave up, plus i have a glock and from what i hear, kabooms happen alot with them but im too inexperienced at it to trust it. i usually buy wolf but .40 is now rare and im down to my last box, didnt want to spend the $30 but a female friend wants to go to the range this weekend :bigHug:

does the humidity risk case failure? glocks notorious exposed bottom case portion?

id say your fine to shoot them.. i your bothered by the look of them get a cloth and some car polish and get to work. should clean up nice.

awesome thanks, lol not bothered by look(other then paying a premium and not even taking care of their stock) , just didnt know if it was safe

I have two boxes of 180 grain Winclean that look like they are supposed to. LOL I won them at the Orono barbecue along with some 9mm. I don't shoot .40 so if you want to trade me straight for 2 boxes of any factory 9mm I have no problem with that.

Yep, I'd also say they are safe to shoot. It is just surface discolouration of the brass, won't affect strength at all.

Kabooms almost always happen because of reloader error. Too much powder or wrong powder, bullet pushed in a bit (it raises pressure dramatically), wrong weight of bullet. I haven't loaded that much, a few 10s of thousands, and never even had a misfire.

A little care and understanding goes a long way.
