I recently acquired a MkIII Ross and I think it will be a pretty good candidate for a restoration. It is uncut and has all the parts except the nose piece ( I know, good luck with that!!)
I took it to the range yesterday and ran a bunch of reloads (180 gr cast bullet over 18 grains of H4198). It shoots remarkably well. Now for the question regarding adjustment for windage. With the sight folded down and using the semi-aperture sight, this rifle shoots 4 to 5 inches to the left, elevation is spot on. Is there any way to adjust the rear sight for windage other than the peep sight plate with the little roller behind? I would like to use the semi aperture sight and at least be within spitting distance of where I am aiming.

Any thoughts??

Drift the front sight.

I have looked at the front sight but it is not at all like the front sight on a Lee Enfield. It is not in a dovetail with a set screw like a LE . The front sight post on the Ross is set into a slot in a barrel band . It will move fore and aft but not side to side as far as I can tell.

The front sight should be somewhat drift able. Obviously the front sight hood stops it from going very far side to side, but it should go far enough to take care of your 4-5" trouble. You just loosen the screw on the front of the sight base and slide it over. If there is something wrong with your base that won't let you do this let me know and we can take care of it. I have a few here.
