6 of 1 or 1/2 a dozen of another. There is two styles of 308 cal rifles we call AR-10, one is the DPMS pattern that they call 308AR and the Armalite pattern. AR-15 are all basically standardized, parts will interchange, while the "AR-10" is not. Most people like myself look at all .308 cal AR as a AR-10. The original AR-10 that Armalite first produced does not interchange with the present ones they produced today, so to say you can't call them all AR-10's is stupid
