I am new to the AR world, and looking to buy my first.
The Windham Weaponry SRC was sugested to me as a good choice.I looked at and fondled one at LGS and it seems to have great fit and finnish and feels very good. Does anyone have any experience with these? I know the history of the company so they should be building good quality, I was just wondering if there is a better choice for the money?
Thanks for the help

It should be a good AR and if you want to upgrade it or fully Milspec all the parts it won't cost much.. Remember optics, lasers,NV,Thermal, lights are always more important....

Same as above. I love my windham. Fit and finish is on par with most higher end ARs. My cousin is the owner of Motiuk manufacturing and he was quite impressed with the Windham. Ive got about 600rounds thru mine. No stoppages or failures.

Mine as it sits right now

Thanks guys...that's what I was hopping to here...It will be mine this week then.......
Now how about sugestions on how to make it even better....Keep in mind I am not independantly wealthy...lol

They are a good company and essentially make up much of the original bushmaster bunch (except for Izzy who moved over to Core 15).
If you find one at a good price would say go for it. The only thing I would recommend is check through EE sometimes you can find some good deals and have more money to upgrade.

WW is a fine pick, more so because of price lately. $1099!!! from a site sponsor. And the upgrades will come easily enough after you shoot the rifle for a while.

You will be stuck with the 16.5" barrel however as the shorter models will not be imported here.

But for price, the WW name, and the historical significance of who the company is based on, you just cannot go wrong.

My complaint would be the Commercial Spec choice WW made for the buffer extension, but tha is a small anomoly for me.

A larger LEO service in the US chose WW as their M4 platform.

I bought one in November as my first AR. Have only added some back-up sights so far.

Had it to the range a few times putting about 250 rounds through it, no stoppages or issues so far. Fit and Finish is great as others have noted.

Not to hi-jack this thread, but for those who own a Windham and are experienced with other AR's, is there any features missing from the Windham that I should be looking for in my next rifle?

I've only heard good things about these. Site sponsor Al Flaherty's sells them. Check their price as Al's is usually very good on price.

I am going there this morning to fondle one and see what thier price is like...I may have to buy one while I am in the city :)

I spent some time at the site sponsors, they had all 3 models so it will take me a while to decide which model I want, leaning towards the flat top so I can install optics, even though I like the look of the carry handle. They were very helpfull and patient with an AR newbie..

I luv mine.. added several upgrades, Timmney Trigger, PWS Compensator, Magpul MOE Grip and CTR stock, Fab Defense Quad Rail...
Over 600rds, not one issue!

The carry handle can be removed in all their models, there is a flat top beneath it .

I bought a few months back... I was planning on Windham but switched and bought a CORE 15 after handling both at Wanstalls. I just preferred the fit and finish of the CORE, and the reviews were excellent. Handy that its all mil-spec, so add-ons are easy. I've been extremely happy with it. Check both out and see which you prefer!
