Hi Dave. Welcome to CGN.
I think Dave was commenting on the negative attitudes of the antis out there. Since he said he has just turned 18 he is in a different generational group compared to a lot of us.
The most younger generation has no exposure to the legitimate use of guns. Lots of negative exposure in the media and from movies/TV shows. Many are conditioned by our early educators to hate and fear guns. Lots of these people only see guns in the most negative light.
While Dave's intro may have not been the best he could have come up with I am glad that he, as a young person (I wish I was closer to 18), has been able to overcome the negative biases regarding firearm use and ownership. We need a lot more young people involved in firearm ownership whether it be related to hunting, target shooting, or collecting.
