Winnipeg Delta Marsh area

Looking at a quick three day waterfowl trip to Delta marsh October 28-30.

Just wondering, what the chances are that the marsh would be frozen by then?

Not usually, maybe a little thin crust of shoreline ice.

I wouldn't think so. It will get cold but not to that extreme to be frozen.

Heading there this Sunday. Looks like we should be good. Hopefully the King of Delta cooperates.

Its still pretty warm here at nights.
13 C out currently, but its supposed to drop to -5 C at nights in another week.
Delta Marsh isnt that far north so I'd imagine you're going to see much the same weather as Winnipeg right now...

Marsh won't be frozen but it's been a real funny season so far. Very hit or miss over the last month. Last Sunday never even fired a shot. Weird.

To me the best hunting typically happens in last 2 weeks of October. Usually after first week of November all bets are off, at that point anything unpleasant can happen weather wise. That said this year has been warmer than typical, first frost was 2-3 weeks later than it should have been, so who knows.
