Winter 3 GUN Kit

Hi all,

This will be my first year participating in 3 Gun matches during winter months. My summer gear is a belt with all G-Code RTI kit, It's not going to be so good with a jacket.

What works for you guys? Chest rig, battle belt?

Let me know what works for you. Pictures are always awesome.

I still run a belt and chest rig. You just need a jacket that runs high enough to clear-ish the belt.

I also run a g-code rti kit with the optimal drop belt mounted platform. Lowers the pistol just enough to clear most "tactical" jackets
 
Lots of shooters have longer, heavier jacket for when they are not shooting. When their turn comes they ditch it.
Seen a few guys with police style jackets that have the zipper on the left and right side for a gun belt.

That's the best way as I see it, but there goes my excuse to buy something.
 
Sorry to butt in, in wondering what gloves you guys would use, I have full size 1911 and a Stag 10/ SR-25, I've tried the wool mitts we have, trigger mitts, cotton gloves, mechanics, all either too thick or too thin haha
 
What tomo said wrt dropping a coat when it’s your turn to shoot. Same thing with mitts. I will use Mechanix Fastfit gloves if it’s really cold, otherwise I will just go bare-handed for the stage....don’t really feel the burn until after the stage is over anyhow.
 
Im another one for ditching the jacket.

Put jacket back on.


*EDIT* with that being said though, I do sometimes keep my jacket on to practice clearing my jacket. (Only in matches that I dont really care about though)

all my buddies in the states like Alabama Texas and Nevada are asking me how the hell can you even get out of the house in winter how can you survive in the winter, I tell them I native name is a little bear and I am fat and ready for hibernation lol
