I would like to hear from rimfire shooters who shoot a lot in the winter. After about -10 my semi autos tend to malfunction. The bolt slows down and then things go bad. It doesn't seem to matter what make of semi-auto. They all do it. What type of lubrication do you use in cold weather that has seen to be effective in your semi?

I run all my 10/22s dry. I have polished all internals and the bolts slide very smoothly. It doesn't take as long as you'd think either. I've never had trouble and I've shot in some very cold temps.

How are you so sure it's the lube(or lack of)?
At low temperatures, some propellants will burn much slower and may not recoil with enough force to operate the action. I've had quite a few standard velocity rounds go completely subsonic at -10...
