I have this crazy idea and wanted to bounce it around here a bit. Looking for smart feedback. Not that concerned if this costs me a bit more $$ than another route if the end result is what I want.

What I'm thinking of doing is purchasing a Ruger Blackhawk in .357 Mag. than buying a new bbl for it in 10mm size. I would than get two cylinders and have them sized to fit .40 S&W and 10mm rounds. Basically a convertable Ruger that shoots .40S&W and 10mm. If the Ruger Convertable 9mm/.357cylinders could be bored out for the .40/10mm that would work for me and save a few $$. There was a S&W model 610 that did this but it is not for sale new any longer. I already own a vertical lathe or milling machine but would likely pruchase a normal lathe to do the treading work if I cannot purchase a 10mm bbl specifically made for this gun. Part of the appeal is that I would learn a new skill and learn how to do machine work. Maybe even sell a few of these guns if Ruger doesn't make one themselves. Here is a conversion to .17 HMR to give you an idea what I have in mind:
