I've had a chum working on some project rifles for me. Here are a few:

The first is a Lithgow SMLE that had an absolutely rotten bore. I had him fit a barrel from a #4 and rechamber it. I plan on making a heavy barrelled SMLE, like the Australians used to play with. It will wear one of the Parker Hale #9 sights.

The next is a commercial Westley Richards Martini action that I picked up at the last gun show. It's now wearing a brand new South African SMLE barrel. I picked up two of them in their original plastic dip preservative. There is still some of the plastic on the barrel.

Finally, there's a Lee Speed action that I picked up off the board. The front trigger guard screw was bent and the magazine area of the guard is twisted and needs straightening. It now wears a heavy Shilen barrel with the front sight base milled integral with the barrel. The action was made by BSA and the rifle will wear the rather scarce BSA sight in the photo.

Next week, I'll be getting my Swedish rolling block with a Shilen .38/55 tapered octagon barrel back home.
It's time to fire up my Radar Carve stock duplicator and learn how to make stocks. I figure that it will take me until the winter of 2016 to finish these guys.
Cheers and happy Christmas.
