WK gen 2 Pmag issues?

My magpul gen 2 and Troy industries mag won’t feed the second round.
They are backing out just a touch and the bolt rides over the round.

I can actually just pull them back out.

Any easy fix for this?

I bought a new one yesterday and had the same issue for the first two mags. Further more, I was not able to pull the trigger for one of the rounds in the following mags, even the bolt was closed and loaded. Weird.

The slot in the mags is not cut deep enough.
I turned the mag catch in ,two complete turns and it helped but I was still able to wiggle them out.

Metal mags work fine though

I have the same issue - brand new PMAG Gen M2 magazines and no matter how hard I try to seat the magazine with the bolt fully to rear, I can still pull it out without even hitting the mag release button.

I wonder if replacing the entire magazine catch and button with a strike industries after market one will help it "bite" the shallow M2 Pmags.

Has anyone written to Kodiak Defense to see if it's a problem with their milling?

People were reporting similar issues with Gen 2 PMAGs not working well in the Crusader Arms Templar as well, so it may not be exclusive to the WKs. Maybe whatever specs Canadian manufacturers are working to with their AR-180 variants have trouble with the tolerances/specs of the Gen 2 PMAGs?

And the gen 2 Pmag has a rounded slot where the bolt catch rests, lifting it slightly higher than it should be. Simply taking a file or knife to and squaring out the slot fixed the issue for the Gen2 Pmag.

I noticed with my WK 180.2 that with the bolt to the rear it is possible to over insert the mags if being forceful on the reload. In doing this it is possible to 'skip' over the mag retention slot and the mags can 'skip' back over when releasing the bolt.

When you look at the design of the AR mag catch, it really is poor. The size of the magazine well has to accomodate all kind of magazines, then you have the cut out in the magazine which really is just a slot or indentation. You may want to compare the catch itself to the indentation and maybe dremel the mag out a bit.
