If keeping the configuration cheap is still a priority, having it take AR mags makes the most sense.
There is the obvious bonus of using 10 round pistol mags too.

I would say 10 round mags and bolt hold open is much better.

No need to take advantage of the AK magazines shape if we are only loading 5 rounds.

Overseas sales would likely dwarf the Canadian market making AK mags the easy choice, fine with me. If we are ever allowed regular capacity mags, stanag pattern mags are not reliable

If they can make a conversion kit then fine, but leave it a STANAG magwell so we don't have to deal with different lowers. I like rock and lock, but not on this, not with this design. STANAG all the way, pistol mags or not.

I for one want a slim and trim rifle, going AK mags on this is a BIG mistake.

exactly, and we're never getting a config with more than 10 rounds, who the hell wants a pinned banana mag, this design, doesn't work with ak mags in my opinion. stanag mags, pistol mags or not.

When did a business decision, relating to among other things....ease and cost of manufacture, reliability, and dependability...become a democracy. It didnt.

They will produce x39, make changes relating to the above, when the original rush to produce rifles slows. Given the overwhelming home run they have hit, ideas and calibers are probably in their heads. Testing calibers, developing accessories, making a dust cover. Above all the technical q & a thread shows, they are trying to produce rifles, do it economically》》》but most of all its their ship...their the captain.
