WMU 65 Question(s) Ontario...

Hi there,

I am getting ready for my first Rabbit hunt and have the following questions.

Does Prescott Russell Township have a bylaw in place that does not allow single prejectile firearms?

Is it ok to hunt on sundays this year in this wmu?

Also does anyone have a link to the bylaws of this township..
I just want to make sure I am not breaking any bylaws or federals laws on my first hunt...

I've never heard of that bylaw. I have a few friends that hunt both small game and deer in that WMU and shoot single projectiles for both. Yes you can hunt on Sundays! Good luck with the bunnies.

I know that there is no center fire rule for this WMU for deer season. Does same rule apply for small game?

I know at my range, we are advised to somewhat lay off the big rifles during the deer seaon..

I am having a hell of a time finding any information on my Municipality....

I guess I will walk down to the Municipal HQ and get my questions answered tomorrow..

I will let you know what I find.

You can use any centerfire for small game in WMU 65. The only calibre restrictions that I know of are around Toronto where .270's are the max. I'll be going out in the morning with my 22LR for the bunnies as well. Hopefully I'll have pics as well. Good luck,

I believe all of WMU 65 is shotgun or muzzleloader only for deer. But AFAIK you can use whatever for groundhog or small game.
