As the title indicates, I'm looking for any recommendations with regards to WMUs that are close to the GTA and that have had recent wild boar sightings. Also, any farmers that are dealing with wild boar problems on their land are free to PM me. Thanks in advance.

I've been keeping an eye on this as well. Thinking of trying it myself. Qubec seems to be the most common area but a few have been reported in Southern Ontario. The WBIC website is helpful but I'm not sure how accurate it is.

I also think WB is close enough to bacon that even my wife would eat it. (She refuses to eat anything that doesn't come from a store.) Now that my son has his rPAL I need to get him into hunting.

Thanks for the link. I actually came across this site recently but I'm not sure if it's being updated frequently. As per that website the last reported Ontario boar sighting was in April if I'm not mistaken.

I am aware that they have been especially problematic around Prescott & Russel townships in Eastern Ontario but I'm not too keen on driving out all the way there unless I get permission from a farmer to hunt on private land.

Grocery store pork is underwhelming IMO. I haven't tried wild boar yet but I have eaten pasture raised pork and it is excellent. The pastured meat tends to be dark red, has much more flavour, and is also more nutritious apparently.
