Was up at Kap River Outfitter's two weeks ago and had this wolf come out on the trail at about 400 yds and start to cross the opening heading away from me ... I fired and missed with the bullet splashing just in front of her and incredibly she spun around and ran towards me giving me a second chance, whereupon I hit her in the leg on the run knocking her down and then a quick follow up to ensure she stayed down.

How is my old buddy Peter doing? Haven't seen or spoken with him or Terry since I left Ontario. I used to sit in with them and their clients for dinner every Saturday night when I worked the winter wood haul at the mill there. One thing is for certain him and our friend Jeff down the road in Iroquois Falls have a massive amount of knowledge and experience at getting folks on wolves. They are very successful and know their quarry very, very well! Congratulations on your kill.

They're doing fine. Peter is still out on the snowmobile daily moving hunters around as they push the wolves. Without a doubt he knows wolves, favorite part of any hunting day spent with him is getting to pick his brain on the subject!

Glad you had a successful hunt. I was less than impressed with Kap River this fall on a bear/grouse hunt.
Our "guide" Coady was barely able to walk he was so drunk when we showed up.

He only had 4 cold baits for us to sit on and not a single one was touched the entire week we were there. His knowledge of grouse hunting seemed limited, we were hoping to see some sharptails but he didn't seem to know where to find any.

We only talked to Peter on the last day even though he was there every day to feed his dogs. Although he was knowledgeable, it seemed like he was winding down the business.

only my 2 cents worth
PETER IS PROBALY THE BEST HUNTER THAT I KNOW.
HE IS A REAL GENTLEMAN.
HIS WIFE TERRY IS A REALLY NICE LADY.
I WOULD SURE HAVE LIKED TO BE ABLE TO GO AND HUNT WOLVES WITH HIM.
BUT I COULD NOT MAKE IT.
HE IS ALSO ONE HELL OF A GOOD DOGTRAINER
IF I CAN MAKE I WILL GO UP TO SEE HIM IN KAP.
TAKE CARE[DOC] YOU OLD HUNTING PARDNER, [SIDEWINDER] LOU 76
