Just wondering what kinda reputation wolf ammo has, anyone had good experiences, bad etc. I am looking at picking some up in 45 acp semi wadcutter. Thanks in advance for any feedback

I shoot it mainly in 9mm (>2000 rounds per year), but I also fire a small amount (<1000 per year) rounds of .45 Wolf. I like it. Never had any issues or problems, or dead rounds or anything. I don't reload, so I can't offer any advice on whether it can be re-used or not. Otherwise, I continue to buy it.

I assume we're talking about the Wolf canadian reloads and not the Wolf russian manufactured.

I love it as well. It's my favorite practice ammo in .45acp. Shoots better than Norinco. It use a powder that leave much carbon fouling but if you clean your gun regularly it's not a problem. I never had a problem with it in a few thousands rounds. I use their TMJ ammo.

I can't speak to their .45 but I'm presently working my way through a bunch of their .38spl. it seems to work well with good accuracy although it's a bit dirty.

Excellent ammo in 200 gr SWC and 230 gr ball, i buy them by the case, the price is right and the performance is on the hot side... Great stuff... JP.

My shooting buddy had issues with the bullets getting pushed inwards with 5rnds out of 2 boxes of Wolf ammo in one range session. On another range session, he had one 1 rnd with the same issue. I don't think he's going to buy Wolf ammo anymore.

Just for curiosity sake (and I don't like wasting components), I took the defective rounds home, pulled the bullets and tried to diagnose the problem. It seems like the cases weren't fully resized and you could easily squeeze the bullet down into the case.

Use at your own risk...

My experience has been different than Trinimon... Over 5K rounds of Wolf various caliber... Not one single issue, i can only recommend this ammo... JP.

Must be nice. Lucky for you the sun is always shining... 6 bad rounds from 3 boxes of ammo is not good odds. It's possible you shot them just the same without knowing that your bullets got pushed in.

Sure there must be some discrepencys but so far i did not noticed nothing, maybe now that i recall a shot or 2 that seem weaker in 44 mag but that's about it... JP.

Maybe your friend just got a bad lot. Did he contact the manufacturer? Almost everything I've read or heard about Wolf up to this point has been positive

Ive went through around 1300 rounds of it this year. Cleaner and more reliable than norinco. Doesn't feel as snappy either. I like it and would buy more. I had one bullet push in. As far as I remember that's the only issue Ive had with it.

Went tru 400 rounds of 200 gr SWC Wolf ammo in 45 ACP yesterday, and nothing to declare reliability wise and actually loaded pleasantly hot, i like that... JP.

I got my order in and got out to the range today, I ordered the wolf 45 swc, 100 RDS performed flawlessly in my norinco 1911, no issues at all to speak of, that was 100 of the 500 I ordered so I am very happy so far, thanks to all for the great feedback!
