wolf 7.62x39

I tell you what. Tell me how to get a hold of the person selling this ammo. I'll buy it all and tell you that Rusian ammo made for Rusian firearms is a very very bad combo.
LOL!:slap:
Sorry had to bug you. Wolf puts out several different type varients of this caliber. I personal own the FMJ and consider it the most accurate round for my CZ 858 but I know some of my friends prefer the Fochi for there VZ 58. All BS aside though I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some of this stuff though!

I have 200 rounds of the Wolf steel cased 122 grain hollowpoints for the 7.62x39mm. Ran a box through my CZ858 and shot an average grouping of 4" at 102 yards. Norinco Silverbox non corrosive FMJ loads run 2.75" avgerage groups. Brown Bear Russian JHP 123 grain loads are the worst ever, they shot an average group of 7" at 102 yards... and they stink like nothing I have ever smelt before. Glad I only got a box of 20 of the Brown Bear... anything more and I would have been wasting money. The Wolf Military Classic FMJ are a little less accurate than the Norinco Silverbox... clocking in at 3.5" average groups at 102 yards.

All groups were shot off a front rest in a bone stock CZ858 with iron sights.

I've used their 154 grain SP ammo, although only at the range so far. VERY accurate and no misfires or stoppages in my SKS. Personally I'd jump on as much of that as I could find at a fair price. I haven't tried any other varieties though.

Wolf

Picked up bout 10,000 rds of Wolf - both the hollows and the solids and have been shooting them for the last couple of years.
When both batched with a bullet comparator the hollow points DEFINATELY out perform the solids.
With a tuned for accuracy cz858 - I have gotten consistant 1/4 " at a hundred groups with the hollows. Same group size with the solids and czech surplus but not consistantly.
When I tune an 858 for consistancy with hot barrel I get the same results as above except an average group size of under 2 " at a hundred for 50 continuos shots. The hollow points are always the tightest of the groups

1/4" groups at 100 meters? With Wolf? Thats amazing...

I must have a ####ty batch of Wolf then... How the hell do you tune these rifles? Best I can do was a 1-7/8" with Norinco Silverbox at 102 yards...

Put the ammo through a bullet comparator that measures overall length at the ogive then shoot all the ones the same overall length together. They print together.
Tuning an 878 consists of the appropriate tension on the ferrule plate from the bottom forend piece , greater tension causes groups to tighten but also print higher. To much tension causes erratic groups. You must experiment.
Optics mounted on steel not forend is mandatory.
Forend optics wobble and shift with every shot.

All

Even on forends like the FAB unit?

So it this the best option for Red dots? ....http://w w w.scoutscopes.com/

Except maybe the Brugger + Thomei but I wouldnt trust it either
The best scout mount is the one from Wolverine or Marstar that clips onto the sight block and even then you have to shim it to be able to get it tight enough so it wont warp and shift

comparator

Interesting! I only shoot the CZ858 with iron sights, so I guess I am not doing too badly. Where does one get a bullet comparator?

Sinclair - they ship to Kanuckistan. Body clamps on to your caliper, inserts are in different calibers. Cheap to buy. Great tool for milsurp ammo, and a great way to turn a wasted evening in front of the idiot box into something useful.
You will find different over all lengths shoot differently. Shorter rounds best in a new chamber , longer in a used one (usually).
I have had luck using the shorter ones in new guns and the longer in my high round count guns.
Its the only way to get accurate conclusions as to the quality of various milsurp ammo. Norinco non corrosive by the way measures well - least variation of all the 7.62x39 I've tested. Wish I could get more of it.
