Anyone know what the story is with Wolf commercially reloaded ammo? They only seem to sell through two outlets, SFRC outside of Kingston, Ontario and Ammosupply.ca in Calgary. SFRC almost never has anything in stock and while Ammosupply.ca has inventory the shipping costs from Calgary to my location make the price prohibitive.

Is their production capacity just too small or are they primarily a supplier of government contracts and just occasionally put odds and ends of surplus production out in the retail market?

I've had some of their .38 special in the past and thought it pretty good value.

they maybe having the same problem as everyone else in finding powder. I know brass has been a problem in the past. Keep watching the sfrc site and load up when it is in stock. it doesn't last long.

"it doesn't last long"

Oh, I know. I had signed up for SFRC's "back in stock" email notification for another brand of ammo. I got a notification into my mailbox last night at 8:34. I saw the email around 10:30 and went straight to the SFRC site only to find the listing "out of stock".

I send an email to Wolf asking why there was nothing in stock at SFRC and if there was anywhere to buy their product in eastern Canada. I'll be interested to see if they reply and if they do reply, what they say.

Wolf is a reloading company aren't they? I can't see them getting any government contracts.
Our military only uses IVI ammo made by (afaik) a single government arsenal so I can't see that effecting consumer supply.
Canadian police forces haven't had nearly the financial stimulus that US police forces have. In Ottawa our police force keeps asking for more money for training and are usually denied. I've never seen the Ottawa police or OPP use anything but new manufacture Remington ammo. A friend of mine said he saw the Ottawa police training with Federal ammo. Their pistol range is at a local College, their rifle training is at a public range that I'm a member at. No reloads whatsoever.
Even in the US, government purchases are a tiny percentage of ammo sales. All the shortages have been caused by unprecedented civilian demand.

The Wolf website lists a bunch of government agencies (primarily Ontario) that they supply......

WOLF BULLETS CURRENT CLIENTS INCLUDE - OPP TRU TEAM BELLEVILLE - ONTARIO MINISTRY OF NATURAL RESOURCES - BANK OF CANADA - RCMP - BELLEVILLE POICE - FRONTIER SECURITY SERVICES - WILLIAMS ARMS - THE GRANGE - GENERAL GUN AND SUPPLY - AND HUNDREDS OF SPORT SHOOTING ENTHUSIASTS

I'm expecting another shipment soon. Wolf Bullets ammo sells out quickly and they are making it as fast as they can. I expect another shipment shortly.

I see posts regularly from SFRC showing they have recieved new wolf shipments. But they are sold fast. Considering the price I buy several cases at a time so I expect this be the circumstances for many people

Yeah, I've got about 20 variations of either caliber, projectile type or quantity set up for their email notification when back in stock service. Hopefully I'll see the email before it's all gone again.

Crazy type of business when you only have inventory for a few hours or a day or two every month or so eh?

I had some questions a couple years ago. So I called them and he picked up the phone himself. Super nice guy. Answered all my questions and then some. Could hear the machines working away in the background. He is pretty hands on.

When I have purchased his ammo, it has been great.

Call Williams Arms in Port Perry. They might be able to ship you some.

I bought it direct from him once. As I recall he demanded an order of at least 5,000 rounds ( or maybe it was 20,000?) for a direct order.

If you happen to have a garbage can or two of the brass you want reloaded, try the direct approach.

Failing that, maybe you could send SFRC the money now, and say,"the next Wolf shipment is for me." Get your self to the head of the line.

Do you need any 45ACP Wolf ammo?

Decent price but shipping to the east coast is over $140:(

I can buy 1,000 rounds of S&B from Tradex landed here for way less than that....(I do need .45 as I just bought my 1st 1911)

I've come to the conclusion the killer isn't ammo prices, it's the price of moving ammo around the country!

Don't always rely on the website shipping calculator. Email/msg the retailer direct and ask for a quote. I asked reliablegun about shipping on their website since it seemed high and they replied saying that actual shipping was close to half of what was quoted on the website. Can't hurt to ask if you haven't already.
