Just received a couple of sets of wolf springs for my polytec m305 the recoil spring is longer than the polytec . Should they be the same length ?

Mine is also a touch longer , hasnt made a hair of difference and the extra bit of strength i like compared to the cheapy norinco spring .

I also have their trigger spring , and hopefully soon will have the ejector and extractor springs in .

The USGI spec spring is about half an inch longer! Do you need one? Not always! Just ensure that yer #### don't fall off! :D

Cheers mates!

Now the recoil and hammer springs are advertised as ''extra power'' while the ejector and extractor springs are not.

Are the extractor and ejector spring USGI spec ?
Are they less powerfull than the Norc springs (they seem beefyer and do have a bigger cross section) ?
Will they remedy or aggravate the possible jams associated with low scope mounts (ARMS 18 or Leatherman) ?

I just put a Leatherwood mount on my M-14s and I want to anticipate any problem before my very limited range time.

Regards,

Chris

When i replaced my bolt with the 7.62 bolt, I needed one. Apparently the USGI bolts are a little wider than the Chinese and my new bolt needed a little extra help to come back over the trigger hammer and extract a new round and then place it fully into battery.

Works like a charm now though. :D w:h:

Leatherman? The pocket tool kit variety that attaches a can-opener, emergency nail file and combo metric/imperial ruler on top of the rifle?

(I think you mean Leatherwood ....)

I have an arms18 mount and was getting the brass over bolt malfunction. I trimmed the norc spring... no better. I then installed the GI kit which was also supposed to prevent it...no go. Mind you there is a different feel to the rifle with the better quality springs but unfortunatley my malfunction still happens.

Regards,

Interesting - mine is due for a replacement. Does this spring fit the Chinese Recoil Spring Guide (I have an M14Doc Guide) or does one have to switch it out for a USGI ?

Additionally, any thoughts on the fabled Tubb's line spring set as an alternative ? Linky

Yes, the Wolff spring will fit over the M14Doc guide and / or the Norc factory guide. You don't have to run out and buy a USGI spring guide (save yer money) or a Sadlak or a Smith or a Badger Ordnance guide.

Cheers,

Woot! Thx Barney. That helps.

A question: What is, in your opinion, a reasonable replacement interval for recoil springs ? I've been subscribing to the 3-5k rounds theory, but should it be sooner ? Are there any signs that I should be looking for to indicate spring wear ?
