I've done several searches, but can't find any posts regarding Wolf's Gun Repairing in Edmonton. Has anybody used Wolf, or heard anything good or bad about Wolf's Gun Repairing.

Thanks!

Yes, I have used Wolf's. It's a cluttered old shop manned by a clutterd old craftsman.. Good work, on his schedule, at reasonable (not cheap) prices.

I wouldn't take anything to Wolf. Talk to him and have a look at his work before you decide. YMMV.

Anvil,

I have talked to him, but he's very quiet. I don't think it would be possible to judge his craftsmanship based on conversations. I haven't seen any of his work, but then I'm a real newbie on the repair front, so I don't think I'm qualified to judge. I would need the gunsmith to inspect and clean an inherited 40+ year-old Cooey Model 60, that looks like it's rarely if ever been cleaned and maybe a trigger job on a CZ-85 Combat.

Like I said, I have no experience with gun repair, so I'm really counting on referrals. So far (based on a search of this site) Lock and Load seem good and to a lesser extent maybe K&S Arms are worth checking out.

Everyone, please keep the responses coming!

Thanks.

K&S arms has mounted scopes and has done trigger jobs on Remington 700's for me great job and good pricing.

Wolf did a clip conversion for me, mom always said if you can't say anything nice about a person, then don't say anything at all. K&S has done a KDF , 2 trigger jobs and an AI conversion for me , no issues ,reasonable prices.

Wolf does good work. I've had at least 50 rifles in to him and all were fixed properly. He is retiring at the end of March. He is not taking any guns in past Feb 28.

By the way, Wolf just repaired a $1550 custom job that the "great" Corlane screwed up.

Karl at KS Arms did a lot of good work for me years ago. Now that Rod H. is doing the gunsmithing there, you won't see my guns on their rack. I wouldn't let Rod work on a rubberband gun I own!!!!

Just to confirm the P & D post Wolf is closing next month, I was at his shop in January and he told me that he was finishing up what work was left in the shop and calling it a day. Edmonton will miss him he's been there a long time. Come on you up and comming gunsmiths fill this void, you are very badly needed. D.H.
