Carbon fiber for the win![]()
Plastic, Tupperware, Carbon fibre have no soul. Wood warms to the touch and has a look and feel that can't be duplicated.
I favor wood the most, however, I do like some synthetic stocks. Here is a photograph of my 257 Weatherby which was made in Germany from Sauer and Sohn. Rifle has been refurbished and re-barreled. Also, my Ferlach, Austria, 300 H&H single shot.

Depends on the application. If inclement weather or for an LR rifle, definitely synthetic. Doesn't warp or swell if water/humidity gets to it. Neither does laminate, but they can be a little hefty. I do appreciate the aesthetics of a good ol' walnut stock however.
