just getting around to posting some pics. fired up the skidoo's last weekend and weren't on the trail and hour and this young bull literally jumped out of the bush towards us at 50 yards. Between my pal and I , we made no mistake. Very tender meat. I'm the one holding just the head. The pic of the big caribou is one another friend got the week before, it would of been nice to see a big one like that but i think we got the better meat, enjoy.

Wow that is some of the best meat i have ever tryed . Would love to get one for my deep freeze congrates dutch

thanks guys, wasn't a real tough hunt, caribou are not known for their intelligence. we saw two other herds, one af about 20 and another of about 5, they knew something was up and hit the bush in a hurry. i could of shot a cow but she had a calf and as i settled the crosshairs on her, the little one poped into view and i felt a bit bad so i let them go. if we didn't already have one in the sled i wouldn't of hesitated but i have to admit that the calf was pretty cute.

Good call on passing on the cow with a calf at heel, but calves taste real good and they are an ethical choice to take if you want the herd to thrive.
