I've picked up some lovely 160grain woodleigh bullets for an upcoming safari. Has anyone played with them? I will be running them out of a tikka T3. My powders of choice are IMR 4350, 4895 & 4320. Would love speed but realize they don't have to be booking like a mad man to kill. Just looking for a good stable load that can hold true for at least 300 meters. Cheers. Will I see pressure issues like you can whilst using Barnes?

6.5 what? There are 22 6.5 cartridges listed on Steve's Pages.
Woodleigh's are expensive because of where they come from. Not because they're premium bullets. Load for the weight. Who made it doesn't matter.
No IMR4320 data on Hodgdon's 6.5 x 55 page. IMR4350 uses roughly 10 grain more powder to get about 2,000 more fps at close to the same pressures. Don't really think it makes much difference which powder.

I've loaded the 155gr mega to 2500fps in 3 different 6.5x55s with lapua brass and h4831. I'd be using the same powder for the 160 woodleigh.

I don't know about the Woodleigh 160's in a T3, but the 160 Hornady's would not stabilize too great in my son's T3 6.5x55 It shot the Sako 156gr fine....... go figure.He uses a 140 gr Partition[like Frank's "Red Hot"] for everything elk/moose etc..DOA.....Harold

I've chosen woodleigh as they are accessible, hornadyhas become hard to come by, in my northern locale. I'm using a 6.5x55 tikka t3 stainless laminate. When I did have access to the hornady 160grain they did perform very well out of my tikka. Wanted to stick with a heavier load, as even though my targets for this rifle are nyala, bushbuck and of course warthog, I am also pondering giving it a whirl on black gnu and a kudu if it goes beyond 55 inches. I anticipate my shots to be a bit further than normal as I will be mountain hunting. Looking through my old logs imr 4350 seems to have served in days past

I know this is a really old post. But what ever came of your development with that woodleigh bullet. I used it on elk this year out of my Sig cross in 6.5 creed. Blew just about right through it, perfect mushroom caught in offside hide, quartering away, running at 150 yards. Massive internal damage. Dropped instantly. Took out top of heart, and both lungs.

Running RL-26 for a velocity of 2585. Pretty stout load, and great velocity for a 18" barrel. Ran up to pressure signs, and backed off a grain right where the accuracy was.
