Lots of interesting things happening.
Found the Herons and owls still using the boxes to rest on, but also caught an uncommon visitor to ur area last week. I've never seen one before but I'm told its a Northern Shrike or "Butcher Bird" because it hangs the small birds it kills on barbed wire or thorns while it eats them!
We now have eggs in 3 of the 14 nest boxes at this location. The newest box was discovered well after I got home and reviewed my pics and recorded data before deleting.
We commonly see larger duck feathers in boxes visited by swallows and starlings so it wasn't until I got home and really looked at the inner box picture I spotted some downy feathers and then an egg became obvious! There appears to be 2 eggs, maybe 3 in the picture. Hens will lay eggs and cover them while they are laying, then uncover them and line with down when the start sitting (so they all hatch about the same time).
I've replaced 4 cameras with new ones, hope to get out next sunday or during the week of the 16th.

Some boxes have hard work mesh for ducklings to grip as they climb out. Other boxes have horizontal cuts on the inside of the front board that start at the bottom and go up to the hole, in the picture you can see the cuts on the edge of the front board.
They always get out!
