I am buiding a workbench to reload, clean etc. Can you tell me what height, design, composition, features should be included? It will be eight feet. I have another 8 feet one to be placed diagnally. Are there any storage compartments useful etc?

I just built one using 2x4s for the frame and covered it with 2x6 planks. I should have then covered the top with a sheet of plywood so powder does not collect in the plank joints.
A long time ago I bought a real heavy steel desk (the kind that used to be made in Canada). It cost $65. I was strong enough to take a press and all the drawers were handy.
When you build a bench, it is nice if you can rig it so that it does not lift if you are having a stiff upstroke on the press handle. You might be able to nail the leg brace to the floor, or run a triangular piece from the front top to the bottom back wall.
The floor should be smooth, not a rug because the primers and spilled powder have to be swept up after each use. Spent primers can stick in shoe treads and they make bad pock marks on other floors. This will piss off she who cannot be upset.
I had a carpet in my shop that I had to vacuum to clean. I started a powder fire in the rug from some dripping solder. It was a ##### to extinguish. Fire extinguisher did not touch it. Eventually I got enough water on it. Now floor is just painted concrete.
