I know the thought of Bench Rest makes some ill but to others it is a passion.

Just thought there are some who may be interested in knowing that Vera Carter from Ontario won the LV 100m in France. Vera bettered approx 155 shooters to claim top honors in that class and yardage. Vera also finished in the top ten in the 2 Gun at 10th place.

The other Canadian shooter who shined was Bill Mitchell of Ontario who ousted approx 110 shooters in the optional 200M HV 10 shot match. Bill claimed top honors. In the process he set a NEW World Benchrest Shooting Federation 10 shot group record at 200m. The record was currently held by Canadian Bill Gammon. It is nice to see one Canadian oust another. Vera came in 5th in this same match.

Congratulations to Bill, Vera and all the other 6 members of team Canada (Rick Pollock, Andy Laidlaw, Dave Abbott, Bill Gammon, Dan Henderson and George Carter) for wearing our colors and reresenting CANADA.

Thanks also to Jeff Wardlow for his tireless efforts to put this together. Jeff sys he is stepping aside as World Team delegate so all the best to the new delegate whomever it will be.

The next worlds will be held in 2013 in Austrailia before possibly returning to North America.

Bulldog, in regards to short range Benchrest be it score or group the serious competitors will be shooting a 6PPC or a 22 PPC variant of some sort. 99.999% will be a 6PPC. It is the KING. In score the exception is with a 30 BR which is gaining in popularity because of the larger hole it cuts and appears to stay in tune. The sacrifce is a bit more recoil.

The only time a 6BR may be seen is by someone who is trying the sport out. When one is hooked, it is a no brainer to move over to the PPC.

As far as I know all the members of the Canadian team were shooting a 6PPC. Bill Mitchell would have been shooting his own bullets and I think George and Vera Carter shoot Hottensteins which appear to be the hottest ticket in town. Unless you know him personally or are one of the top US shooters you might as well forget getting them.

I forgot to mention that at WBC 11 there were 11 World Bench Rest Shooting Federation Records BROKEN.
