Central ON has been pummeled by successive bad winters. Trust me when I say its not just those camps that are getting skunked for the first time in recent memory.

Yup. In our spot, even tho it was only bucks on camera, they were some decent ones in 2016,17,18 but this year only young bucks showing up. According to the locals It is getting worse, hopefully the deer can bounce back with some nicer weather.

Looks like snow here to stay from October 31 onwards, a new record in my 34 years. That itself isnt the problem, but rather the fact it doesnt go away until May

Do Not get discouraged, more time in the trenches needed.
Hit the Bush, do more Recce's, plan your hunt, hunt your plan, hunt alone.
Document what you do and keep improving.
Never give up

If it was easy everyone could do it.. stay the course..

IF your only reason for hunting is to put food in the freezer .....it's far far far cheaper to goto a local farmer pick out a pig and a beef and buy it direct.

Even if you do not tag out it's not a failure, just get out and enjoy nature...

Hunting, especially if your a gear whore, is one of the most expensive hobbies a person can have.

The answer to your problem is simple. Your in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Keep on trying and sooner or later you will get it right.

You're so focused on the "goal" that you're missing out on the journey.

Exactly. Hunting is about much more than the kill. Enjoy the moment, the kill will come. My father went 25 years with no luck. Camp usually got deer, just not him. He had a heart attack and could no longer go to the "best" watches. so he hunted those closer in, and suddenly started shooting deer.
Your time will come enjoy the ride.

BTW, OP don't be too quick to criticize when someone misses a whitetail. You'll find out why yourself one day.

I hear ya op, just keep at it...

As for unpunched tags, we have a cork board that is covered with unpunched tags! Bear, moose and deer tags have gone unfilled for many reasons... I don't look at them as failure, but instead as proof that hunting is not shopping and punching a tag is never guaranteed.
