For an older rimfire rifle, is there any way to fix a worn-out chamber? It is bulging the cases near the rim. Can the chamber only be relined?

Get a smith to cut off the back end. Then rechamber. Only a little (2" or so) needs to be cut off. I've had this done a few times and it certainly didn't affect the accuracy of an old Husqvarna that I've had since I was 9. In my cases throat erosion was the problem.

If the cases are only bulging and not leaking gas it doesn't require fixing... a lot of rimfires bulge at the back.

I have never lined a chamber only... it would probably be less work to line the barrel.

I have lined a bunch of rimfire chambers and it works out fine. Some are more easily done than others. Often a slight set-back is the easier and more effective option. Regards, Bill.
