Worth it?

As much as I am a "buy Canadian" type of guy and practice what I preach...in this case, the Type 81 is a proven platform for reliability and has been "battle tested". The WK G2 is still fairly new, and there are already reports of QC problems and some parts failures. And we all know about some of the common WK G1 issues, though granted, I know not all WKs have had (mine has been OK though it does have an incessant rattle). But if I were to get a chance to trade a WK G2 for a Type 81, I would not hesitate to make the trade (assuming I am on the side receiving the Type 81).

I would...the Gen 2s are as close as we will get to an AR15. Super fun to shoot and accessorize. Parts are made in Canada and can be had by a click of the mouse. Never had any major issues with WKs, gen 1 and Gen 2. Ultimately your choice though.

Cheers!!

all 180 type gun are crap to a level or another ... i'm sad to say

Besides the real 180b. And Still their polymer lower tend to crack on the hinge.

Type 81 is solid.

Sell the Type 81...get 2x SKS' (one is none, two is one) and some ammo.

They maybe don't look as cool but their accuracy is the same...SKS' are cheaper, 10,000x more plentiful and so are their spare parts.

Stocking up on good x39 ammo is a little harder now with no more Barnaul coming in tho :(

Depends on what you do with your rifles. If you like to change stuff or attach things, the 180 will be better. If you like to shoot a lot and aren’t to concerned with how cool you look, the 81 might last longer. Hopefully anyways, I doubt parts are available.
