Would adding a shoulder stock to a PLR 16 change its classification?

Just wondering, as it is listed as a handgun on the registration. If I added a shoulder stock would it then become a rifle--or as it is already restricted, does it even matter?

Registration says handgun. It’s a handgun. Can’t change the registration with a stock, a longer barrel, etc. It will always be a handgun, and always be restricted

once classified as a pistol it’s stuck in that classification... I ran into that issue in the past
