Can't put my hand on the pic right now, but I have taken a nice 4x4 mule deer with an M1 Garand.

My buddies were napping after lunch and I went for a walk with the M1, leaving my scoped .308 in camp. They laughed ....

A half hour later, I woke them up with the shot and came back to camp grinning. They went home skunked from that trip.

Last year I took two large black bears and a mule deer with a 'modern' milsurp - a Shiloh Military Rifle in 50-70. Does that count?
