I've loaded a batch of .40S&W with a load of 7.4 grains (0.6 grains below maximum) of Longshot under a 180 grains Frontier.
After firing, cases heads and primer faces are 'imprinted' by the breech face, BUT, primers remains perfectly rounded, not flattened at all... (BTW, those are CCI small pistol primers)
... on the other hand, I frequently see 40 cases in my club's brass bin that has it's primers completly flat and even flowed (sp?) in the firing pin hole, but no breech marks on the case head.
Am I dealing with overpressure?
Thanks,
PoFF
