Like the title says, would it be suitable for hunting here in Canada. I may buy one that would double as a target rifle and do some hunting, white tail and possibly moose.

Your thoughts.

The standard answer is...If you work within the limits of the cartridge and your own limits you should be OK. :D

Personally I'd prefer to use a 6.5 Swede (on the left), but that's just me. :D

Another question to ask is how well would your target rifle work as a hunting rifle?

Think of Mud, rain, possibly falling down or dropping it, weight of the rifle, how it handles in odd shooting position in the field, etc.

But I'm sure it is possible if one puts some careful thought into it.

Whitetail sure, Moose Hmmm I'm not sure about that.

X 2. The rifles that the Grendel usually appear in are heavy 30"+ barreled target beasts or AR-15s. Neither of these are normally one's first choice for hunting here in Canada. Nothing wrong with the projectile, I have hunted with a .260 Rem Mountain rifle for a number of seasons and it certainly takes game. The 6.5x55 Swede is a legendary European hunting cartridge taking everything over there.
