Would you ever buy a small gun for novelty purposes?

I don't think the Liberal "Prohibited" class approach solves anything; if somebody wanted to conceal they'd go for a full size 1911 if they really wanted.
That being said, I think Mini Glocks are cool. :D
Maybe when (perhaps if) I get a tax return, I'd pick one up and just get the barrel extended.

Whadya think? Would you buy a small gun for the hell of it, or buy a full size for the accuracy difference?

Those sub-compacts are convenient to carry, but not a whole heck of a lot of fun to shoot.

I disagree, although it is a question of personal preference.

I love shooting the 26. It is tiny but very loud, and surprisingly accurate. I would certainly buy one with an extended barrel, but in all honestly would probably get a Glock 19 with extended barrel before the 26 with extended barrel. The extension on the 19 would only extend ~5mm (safety margin).

Personal preference, exactly. It's at least as much about aesthetics of the gun itself, ie., how beautiful this object is to its owner's eye, as it is practicality of the gun in putting nice little groups on a target. All five handguns that I own are currently prohibited (you'd never believe the grab I made just before THAT legislation came into force), and to tell you the truth, I admire the way that they look at least as much as I enjoy shooting them. I'm pissed off as all hell for all of those who came to the table too late. Not quite as pissed off that I personally can't find a number of 12(6) firearms for sale in Canada that I would dearly love to own still, mind you, but I feel for you guys.

Yea Slavex, apparently the Glock 26 is viewed as the ultimate Glock in terms of fit and function. This is what I have been told, but when you field strip the 26 you realise that it is a really nice little unit. In the past I have had no problem hitting steel chest sized plates at 50m and poppers at 25m. For a subcompact pistol, that is plenty accurate.

Damn. I'd assume the grip (or lackthereof) would make it harder to get a good hold on it, and the smaller size would make it more prone to recoil. Like I say "when I have money to burn"

NAA how such a Colt fan could steep so low to get a tupperware gun?

To answer the original question I would buy a gun only if I could shoot it, just to look at it is not worth it IMO unless you get a really nice deal on it…

Man, I wish I could own that Walther.

I have seen some modded so they are not 12(6) anymore but it just does not look good on the small glocks...
