Ok, here's the deal. YOu go out for an afternoon deer hunt, right when you are about to fall a sleep a big buck walks out and you blast it. Only when you walk up to it do you see that it is a Mega Buck. You get it scored and it scores high, very high.

Word gets out, pictures float around and next thing you know a big american company wants to buy the rights to your buck pictures (or however it works)and wants you to promote thier products.

Would you promote thier products for money?

Would you promote products if you did not belive in them?

What if they wanted you to act like you used product X to get the big one (even if you actualy didn't)

Would you sell the deer head?


I personaly hate the way hunting has turned into a comercialized gong show. I would not sell out if I had to lie, for any amount of money. I would also never sell the head, somehow I feel that is wrong. I might accept a job offer but problably not take a one time product endorsment deal.
 
I would have no problem selling the rights to my story,as it is going to be told anyways.I would also have no trouble accepting money to appear at sportsmans shows to display the head.However,I would not endorse a product and state that I used it to kill the deer if I didn't use it.However if I did use the product,I would gladly accept free product or cash for saying so.
 
I dont see whats really wrong with that, although someone may have a different set of morals as I. The only thing I wouldnt do would be to sell the head, id just take tons of pictures with me holding it, then sell those.
 
It is amazing what people will do for money.
I always thought I would like to be a pro staffer!!
Maybe even a hunting show who knows.
No wouldn't sell it for sure and no I wouldn't pretend like I used something I didn't but would certainly do it if I were using the product because it may be the reason you lucked into the big one right!!!!! You wouldn't use it if you didn't beleive would you!!!

Depends. If the sale of the head would finance a lifetime of great hunting then sure? Why not, it's only a dead deer head.

Lying about someones product no. Endorse it maybe.
 
I would definately try and sell the story and pics. I would also go so far as to approach the companies of the products I was using, (ie. clothing, rifle, bullets or ammo, calls, ATV, truck) and let them have a chance to buy my pics and story.

I definately would not endorse products that I did not use by saying that I did use them. BUT, I would consider endorsing those products after trying and liking the product and as long as deer pics or story were not used in the endorsement.

I don't know about selling the deer head. If it was legal, I would consider it, but only after all the endorsements and trade show appearances were over with and I had made all my money, haha:dancingbanana: . I would probably have a replica made before selling if I did!!!!

Anything has its price. Give me some bucks, some triplecates of the product and lifetime position on the New Product advisory board and I'll do it ..... even if it is just Crappy tire - PlayMaker (tm) Hunting Rifles.:mad: :D ;)

I would only support there products if I believed in their product, Unless it was a bullet company and then loaded me up. You can never have enough jacket bullets around and there are as good as cash!

Sell the head? I dont think you are allowed to. I believe since it is Owned by the crown you would have to forfeit part or all of the proceeds to the Government, if sold.

My understanding is that legally taken/tagged animal belongs to you. On the hoof it belongs to the crown. Some wildlife is covered under C.I.T.E.S. agreement and can't be exported. ie. polar bears, ivory etc.

I don't endorse stuff I don't use, but would galdly if I did, becuase I only use what I believe in.
I'd sell the story, but I wouldn't embelish it.

I think you have to keep it for a certain number of years first, and it would likely be turned into belt buckles, knife handles, and pens first!!:D
I don't hunt antlers except to make that stuff out of them!:dancingbanana:

If I shot a record animal I probably wouldnt know anyways (I wouldnt meaure it) and even if I did realize it was at most I'd post a picture here and on my website with a quick little story. :)

If a sponser did track me down unless I was using it to hunt that day I'd decline it even if they offered me a ton of money as I'm not a sell out. Now if the sponser was a company that I did use that day and I felt it helped me I'd gladly do a commercial or 2. :) And if they threw in some of there products as a gift to me I'd gladly take them ;)

I must be in the company of millionaires! I feel so poor. Of course I'd take the friggin' money, if my bullshyt helps sell product, people keep working, money changes hands, hunters dream big and I line my pockets. I just don't see a problem here. Oh there's that integrity thing though, nope not applicable here, just something between me and those who are important to me.
 
I woud happily accept cash for saying "The Leupold scope was an excelent aiming device. The 300WSM cartridge worked perfectly, above my expectations, the TSX bulet did it's job in a spectacular manner, the Garmin GPS was an invalubale aid to getting around adnt he Cabelas camo outfit was a pivotal asset to the hunt"

I wouldnt' say "The TInks formula deer goo was hat made the hunt sucessful"..cause I don't use it..:)

Woudl I sell the trophy? Depends. Everyting and I mean EVERYTHING has a price to it. If someone offered me enough $$$ I woud take it and better my lifestyle.

And go ook for his brother:p
