Wouldn't it be nice........

Mouse guns! I love 'em!

Back in the day...mid-to-late 1970's...a friend and I purchased a couple .22 Berettas. I got a model 71 (one of my very first handguns, and probably the coolest and ###iest handgun I ever owned) and he a Minx, similar to the Bobcat but in single-action only. Man, those were fun guns; we spent the next decade or so trying to convince each other to "sell me yours!" Never succeeded, but had great fun trying. Never even thought of suppressors back then, just shot the crap out of those guns, cleaning when they started to bog down. I loved the pop-up barrel on the Minx, such a cool feature on that little extractor-less pistol. Never needed it to extract a fired case but it was handy for unloading the gun if you didn't shoot, and during use you never had to work the slide at all, just drop a cartridge into the open barrel, close it, #### the hammer and squeeze the trigger.

I was always more of a revolver guy, and had a bunch of Smith model 29's and a couple magnificent Ruger Super Blackhawks...but I don't think any gun produced the same number of smiles-per-round as those little Berettas. Those were the days...:)

I owned a 950B for a while. I loved it aside from the Pinocchio barrel. No 12(6) for me unfortunately. I sold it after it cut me very badly. My massive hands meant I had to hold it very specifically.

About 60 years ago I had a Beretta in .22 Short... Basically a useless little gun but I once did shoot a c ock pheasant in the head with it.

Update to NFA Transfer Guidance

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives released an Open Letter and Frequently Asked Questions explaining how it will treat ownership, transfer, and transportation of the National Firearms Act (NFA) firearms for which Congress eliminated the making and transfer taxes in the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Under ATF’s guidance, ATF will not enforce the requirements for individuals to apply and receive ATF approval before making or transferring short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, suppressors (silencers), and certain other concealable firearms known in the law as “any other weapons.” ATF also will not enforce the NFA’s registration, tax-stamp or related requirements for those covered items. The $200 tax remains in place for machine guns and destructive devices. The NFA requirements apply in full to those weapons. The guidance does not supersede state and local laws that restrict NFA firearms.

The .22lr Beretta pistol with the pop-up barrel is known as the Model 21 up here in Canada.

I've had one of them in the past. As well as the slightly smaller version Model 950B in .22 short [was also available in .25ACP].
